Leigh Squires

elizabeth.squires@converse.edu

I am from Easley, SC and I am currently a senior at Converse College. My majors are Studio Art and Religion, and I also have a minor in Business Administration. My passions are somewhat diverse, but they seem to fit together rather well. I love creating all types of artwork but especially of peoples' faces. I love to drink coffee, but what fascinates me more is the economical impact that coffee has on the world and the culture created around coffee.  I love relationships with friends, family ,and with those random people that you  meet at the most unexpected times that make your heart melt everytime you think about them. I love learning about the world and the details that make each person unique. At the core of it all, I love Christ, for numerous reasons...because He is always the same but I can never learn enough about Him, because He cares deeply about people despite what they have done, because He is the creator of all things but He still wants to have a one on one
relationship with me, and because He gave me the capability to love coffee.

So, you want to know a little bit about me? Well, I'm a sophomore student at USC Upstate and I am in the process of learning about God's masterpiece. I know what you are thinking. What is she talking about? Well, I am glad you asked. I'm a nursing major, and if you don't know already, you learn about all of the fascinating aspects of the human body. God's creation- you! We are all unique individuals with talents and abilities. The one thing I am looking forward to this year during Sunago is to see how God is going to use each one of our unique gifts. Our campuses are hungry for God’s love and I’m ready to sacrifice myself this year to feed them.

I'll get the strangest things out of the way first... when I was six I moved to africa and went to french school... my family moved several more times after that which meant that I went to junior high in England and to a boarding school in Germany for high school.
So now that the strange parts are out of the way...haha... I am a senior at Converse College (an all women's college) and I am an art therapy major (has anyone ever heard of that?) and some friends and I opened this coffee shop in downtown Spartanburg called Cross Roads Coffee. I love Hot Tea and I recently went to India. I have looked forward to Thurday nights ever since I was a freshmen because I really value relationships and community. I love meeting new people and I love hearing about other people's passions and encouraging them the press on. I am so fascinated by God. I can't figure him out but I trust him completely. He is mysterious and exciting. Ask me about it.

JD Tolbert

I was born and raised in Greenwood, South Carolina. I am currently a sophomore at Wofford College, majoring in Physics and minoring in Mathematics. I’m involved in different programs on and off campus. In my free time, I love playing Ultimate Frisbee, Racquetball, and even a little Tango Soo Do (martial arts). One of my greatest “earthly” passions is the outdoors. From backpacking to rock climbing to kayaking, I love it! That’s mostly because it encourages my greatest passion … Christ. It’s out in those mountains, forests, and caves that I am set in awe and reminded how awesome God really is. It’s indescribable. The problem is that now I rarely get the chance to explore the outdoors, and that’s why I fell in love with Sunago. It is the one place I’ve encountered (in Spartanburg) that I’ve been able to sense God’s presence, just like I do in the mountains. I can see Christ through my brothers and sisters as we worship together. I feel the love and receive the guidance that spiritually aides me now; and, it prepares me in my walk with Christ, so that I will continue to live for Him and not stumble as the sun rises each day. And, if you don’t mind, I will pray you in your walk. God bless.
